Singapore River Festival adopts e-payments

DIGITAL payments will be at the forefront of this year’s Singapore River Festival.

In line with Singapore’s initiative to encourage e-payments, EZ-Link will be the only method of payment at LAH Bazaar.

Part of the Singapore River Festival, LAH Bazaar is Singapore’s first riverside e-payment driven outdoor market.

LAH stands for “Local at Heart” or colloquially, “Long Zong Also Have” (“It has everything!”) to reflect the heartland personality of the bazaar.

Visitors can purchase and top up their EZ-Link cards at stations located across the festival, recognisable by their distinctive blue tents.
Nicholas Lee chief executive officer of EZ-Link said that besides the convenience of using and topping up their EZ-Link card at the festival, festivals-goers can also enjoy other rewards and promotions as part of their e-payment experience.

For example, by downloading NTUC Link’s Plus! App, they will enjoy special promotions and earn 8x LinkPoints, as well as EZ-Link Reward points at LAH Bazaar when they link their EZ-Link and Plus! Accounts.

The Singapore River Festival opened its fourth edition this week, extending it to a month-long celebration that runs from Oct 16 to Nov 11. With the theme of “Your River, Your Vibe”, this year’s festival will include a myriad of locally themed performances and activities across all three quays – Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay and Boat Quay. The festival is organised by Singapore River One in partnership with EZ-Link and Plus!.

Throughout the festival period, from Tuesday to Sunday, festival-goers can expect a mix of retail, food and fun at the bazaar, located at an open field near shopping centre Liang Court off River Valley road.
