Just last year, Alicia Keys announced her co-founded non-profit She Is the Music, and 2019 saw the organization taking massive strides by giving female artists opportunities to grow and network in their craft. As a result of her positive efforts, the songstress received the American Express impact award at Billboard‘s 14th annual Women in Music event on Thursday (Dec. 12) in Los Angeles.

On the red carpet, Keys spoke to Lele Pons and Billboard‘s Chelsea Briggs about her feelings surrounding the honor. “There’s an energy that surrounds us that’s unlike anything I ever felt,” she said of her fellow honorees. “A real camaraderie, a real respect, a real pride and I’m loving it.”

She also shouted out her “boo boo” Billie Eilish, who took home the award for Woman of the Year, calling the 17-year-old songstress “really on fire and a beautiful soul.”

Earlier in the evening, Eilish hinted on the red carpet that she would love to collaborate with Keys, the latter of whom wholeheartedly agreed. “I feel like, why wouldn’t we? It would be so fun and beautiful and powerful. She’s my sister.”
